(More customer reviews)I just finished assembling 8 of these chairs, and I have to give them a top rating. The wood is hard and finished nicely. The vinyl used for the seats is heavy and durable, and looks like top grain leather. The stainless accents are a nice touch. The assembled chairs look like they cost a lot more.
Assembly does require power tools. I had to re-drill the pilot holes to a 9/32" diameter, because the pilot holes for the stretchers were so small, and the wood was so hard, that I could not drive the set screws in by hand with a screwdriver. After re-drilling the holes and using a small cordless drill, it was a piece of cake. I also used wood glue to secure the dowels of the stretchers to the legs. These chairs are SOLID!
I have performed a lot of flat-pack, do-it-yourself projects, and I can also say that everything fits together well. Nothing is off-center, skewed, drilled pooly, or anything else. This stuff fits together like it should. I give thumbs up to the manufacturer as well.

A few issues with this chair I found
1. It costs a little extra to ship

The other chair is perfectly fine.
I had tried to send emails though amazon.com to contact with the seller for an exchange or return but did not even get any respond so far.
I would not reccomend this chair to anyone!
This not the way to do business. If there is a defect, they should be exchanging the chair it or refund my money for return!

The headrest is clamped and tightened with screws, however you'll need a small star bit on a screwdriver to tighten those as the chair didn't come with anything other than the allen wrench for bolts.
Adjustable headrest, adjustable height, adjustable arm rests. Lumbar support with a comfy foam seat. I'm 6'2" with absolutely no trouble fitting easy in this chair.
Shipping took 4 days, including the weekend, and all the parts were provided in great condition. Would recommend.

This part fell down and is getting grinded with every swivel, producing black plastic shavings. The supposedly "limited" warranty, means YOU GET NO WARRANTY AT ALL, that's what the vendor basically told me. If I were you I would buy a cheaper barstool, that way when it breaks, you don't feel like an idiot for spending so much on a piece of junk.

However, they're not quite as heavy duty and finished as I would have liked. The swivel doesn't reset, but stays in whatever position you leave it in, which is substandard in my opinion. Also, the finish is not lacquered, so I have no idea how long it will last.

Lumisource Stout Bar Stool Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased three of these stools 1 week ago (I was about to order four but changed it at the last minute...thankfully). These stools are huge. With my having a very tall bar(42" to the bottom) I expected to have to add some inches either at the base or between the stand and the seat (perhaps both) to reach the desired height. I think these will work as is.
The delivery speed of these stools was truly amazing (FedEx), they arrived exactly one week from ordering.
I ordered three stools but two fill the space, so I now have an extra if needed. For the sale price and free Amazon Prime shipping, these stools will be very hard to beat. All three cost less than many sellers of tall bar stools wanted for just one. I am 6'2" tall and weigh just over 200 pounds, to me these stools seem quite sturdy. However, I don't think I would trust them at say 300 pounds, especially in the fully extended position....the welds just don't seem to be very impressive.
The seats are spacious and comfortable. The stools are large and stunning. They certainly will not go unnoticed.
Unfortunately, of the three stools that I received, only one was properly packed so that no damage to the chair portion of the stool could occur. The other two had parts lain in the seat which left imprint marks in the leather which will probably never come out. These are fairly minor flaws and don't show too much as they are on the inside of the arm rests. Still, I feel consumers should be forewarned.
The good news is that they assemble easily and quickly with just four screws to secure the seat to the stand and they even provide the wrench so you need no tools of your own.
In summary, you should measure carefully before buying as they might be larger than you expect. The stools are attractive, the seats comfortable and spacious. As for how they are packed....that would appear to be the luck of the draw. I would still order another if needed and would recommend them wholeheartedly if they can get their packing problems worked out. You might like to know that in experimenting with mine, it seems that 21 inches from a wall to the center of the support post allows my knees to clear and that 33 inches between chair center lines appears to be about the minimum needed for ease of entry and exit from the chairs. Hope this helps. My advice to the manufacturer: offer the stools in a brushed nickel finish and fire a couple of your packers.

Hillsdale Cierra Swivel Counter Stools Review

(More customer reviews)I needed 4 counter height stools that would fit at the end of a counter with a 24" x 51" overhang. These fit perfectly! 17" wide seats didn't take up too much room, so I could have 2 at the ends and 1 on each side. The black upholstry does seem to attract lint, but the fabric seems durable and has great padding on the seat and back-very comfortable, doesn't hurt my bony rear. My biggest complaint is the tapperd legs that flair out. The leg tips are on an angle at the floor and put many half moon shapped dents in our new oak floors. There are no chair glides available to fit these leg ends. I ended up putting 1/2" self adhesive felt pads on the leg ends. I expect they won't stay on long, so I'll have to keep and eye on them. The people at Hillsdale didn't have a solution for this problem, but they were understanding and pleasant. Too bad they didn't have a swivel chair glide to fit these legs. The stools assembled quickly, it helps to have someone sit on the stool when doing the final tightening of the screws so all the legs will sit evenly on the floor. I lucked out finding them at LNT which had a $99.99 price, with a B1g1 50% off sale and a 20% off coupon which totaled $129.98 for two. Best deal I could find. Overall these stools are very good, except for hardwood and vinyl floors, becaiuse of the dents the legs create.
