Company sent replacement parts and they broke within a year, AGAIN! These were adult owned, gently used, and only used 3 times a week! Only had for 2 1/2 years! I'm told by the company, that the parts are out of stock and unable to be ordered. I spent hundreds of dollars on what I thought would be really nice chairs, only to find that they're probably gonna have to be replaced already.
Plus, the glass top is held to the bottom by suction cups!!

24"H Windsor Back Swivel Barstool Review

(More customer reviews)Once assembled, these are very attractive, sturdy barstools and the swivel mechanism is solid and smooth. The stools arrived with the seat/seat-back intact. The base consisted of two assembled sides (pairs of legs) with 4 spindles to go between the pairs, and the top board/swivel base that the 4 legs insert into from the bottom and the swivel mechanism attaches to the top.
The assembly instructions that come with the stools would have you assemble the four legs then attach them to the top board. DO NOT try to do it in this order. The four legs all angle inward. The holes they fit into on the swivel base are all a tight fit and angle inward as well. If you assemble the legs first they will not fit into the holes on the swivel base. Start by figuring out how the two pre-assembled pairs of legs best insert the swivel base (these are still a tight fit as they angle inward as well, but with all three stools, I got this to work), partially insert them so that they can still move a bit, then fit the cross spindles between the two pairs (all upside down to this point). Once the legs are all connected, flip the base upright, place a folded up towel over the top board/swivel base, and hammer the base tightly onto the legs. From there you can proceed to attach the swivel mechanism to the swivel base (take care to make sure the the 'front' indicator is on the up-side) and then attach the seat to the swivel mechanism (upside down again for this part and rotating the base to tighten each screw into the seat through a hole in the swivel base). Please note that though there were pre-drilled starter holes for the swivel plate screws in both the base & seat, they were not large or deep enough. Either drill them out a smidge or be prepared to use a LOT of elbow grease to tighten these screws.
So the assembly was NOT fun -- but the end result are some very nice barstools at a very reasonable price!

(More customer reviews)When I got the chair I was a little skeptical when the frame came out of the box looking much like one of those outdoor chairs with the metal beams running through it, but surprisingly when it came together it was quite comfortable. The padding really makes the chair. Glides well and seems to handle my 240lb weight fine.
Just fyi the on the back the chair comes about halfway up the back of my head and the leatherette material seems kind of thin, so if you want genuine leather or vinyl you may not be happy with this particular chair. Also when it is in the full upright position it seems to make you feel like you're sitting slightly too far forward.
Also when it reclines, think of how a computer chair reclines as to how far back it goes. Not really that far, but with the ottoman is quite comfy.
I also noticed some comparible chairs people complain about the welds. This particular one is welded quite securely all the way around and doesn't have any bad welds.

Mac Motion Chairs Model 2-Piece Recliner with Matching Ottoman with Alpine Frame Review

(More customer reviews)The photo is accurate, and the chair is comfortable with good lumbar support. I would classify it a hybrid between a recliner and an office chair. I wanted a chair for my carpeted home office that swivels but did not have casters, so this fits the bill. The base came with foam pads already attached to the base with adhesive, probably so it would not slip on a hard floor. I had to scrape them off so that the chair could be easily moved across carpet.
The directions are minimal and the assembly of the one I got took a lot of strength. They provide Allen wrenches but the bolts were pre-treated with thread lock and the threads weren't very clean. It was all I could do to tighten them and I am a 200 lb guy. Plus the Allen wrenches don't fit the heads of the bolts very well.
I am not sure how well this will hold up because the seat is affixed with two 1/4 inch bolts that serve as both load bearing points as well as pivots for the sliding seat when the chair is reclined. I would have preferred bushings or even bearings.
The only adjustment is to recline the seat- activated by a large wooden knob under the chair on the right side. There is no adjustment for seat back position or chair height.
I think for the price that the quality would have been a little higher, but the chair does suit my home-office needs very well and I plan to be careful with it so it lasts.

(More customer reviews)We purchased two of these York style barstools that came from Visiondecor, based on our research on Amazon and other sites. The price was reasonable for what we expected to be a quality piece of merchandise. We recieved the chairs and put them together (very simple process). We liked them very much, they were comfortable, and the cherry wood construction was beautiful and matched some cherry cabinetry we had near by. But, alas, the one problem was that the chairs were simply too big and stout-looking for the area and surrondings in our kitchen/dining room. We are returning the chairs, and have a identified two others, smaller and not as stout looking that we will be buying on Amazon.
The five star rating is based somewhat on the appearance and quality of the chairs, although granted we did not have them long enough to honestly rate them for sturdiness and longevity. The five star rating is based on the willingness and helpfulness of the Visiondecor staff in handling our exchange. We kind of expected some resistance, since there was no real problem with the stools. They gave us no problems, and were in fact cheerful and helpful in the return process.
And, the two barstools we will be getting are also going to be from Visiondecor.
